Information technology (the way we produce, store and retrieve information) has changed drastically since Gutenberg started messing around with moveable type in the 15th century.
Today, it's not surprising that television, computers, radio, videotape, compact discs, CDROMs, DVDs, MP3s and other forms of electronic media are the "channels of choice" for many people looking for information.
The library at UMass Dartmouth has an extensive collection of nonprint sources that can be retrieved at the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the library. Most of it is fully cataloged. This means that Voyager, our online catalog, includes the videotape of Hamlet as well as the printed play.
Most of the audiovisual materials and equipment can be checked out at the Circulation desk on the first floor of the library. Faculty wanting to schedule audiovisual services for their classes can contact AV Scheduling at (508) 999-8688.
