Nursing & Allied Health Database

(ProQuest) - Covers a wide range of topics, including nursing, allied health, alternative therapies, biomedicine, consumer health and health administration. Contains full text for many nursing and allied health journals for recent years and indexing for prior years. Provides Systematic Reviews, Evidence Summaries, and Best Practice Information Sheets from the renowned Joanna Briggs Institute. Oceanic Abstracts

(ProQuest/CSA) - "Focuses exclusively on worldwide technical literature pertaining to the marine and brackish-water environment. It is totally comprehensive in its coverage of living and non-living resources, meteorology and geology, plus environmental, technological, and legislative topics."

Opposing Viewpoints

(Gale) - Opposing Viewpoints covers timely issues, from capital punishment to immigration to marijuana. This cross-curricular resource supports science, social studies, current events, and language arts classes. Informed, differing views help learners develop critical-thinking skills and draw their own conclusions.

Oxford Art Online

(Oxford Univ. Press) - "Oxford Art Online offers access to the most authoritative, inclusive, and easily searchable online art resources available today. Through a single gateway, users can access and cross-search Oxford’s acclaimed, regularly updated art reference works: the Grove Dictionary of Art and the Benezit Dictionary of Artists." 

OxResearch Database

(ProQuest) - "Provides succinct analytical articles covering world and regional economic and political developments of major significance. Evaluates issues and events within a coherent political, social, and economic framework. Contains objective, multi-disciplinary articles compiled by an extensive international network of over 1,000 faculty members at Oxford and other leading universities around the world, as well as think-tanks and institutes of international standing."

Performing Arts Periodicals Database

(ProQuest) "indexes around 400 scholarly and trade journals, magazines, books, and newspapers covering theater, dance, film, television, stagecraft, broadcast arts, storytelling, and more. It draws from both current files and selected backfiles to 1864."

Philosopher's Index

(EBSCO) - is a current and comprehensive bibliographic database covering scholarly research in all major fields of philosophy. The Index features author-written abstracts covering scholarly research published in journals and books, including contributions to anthologies and book reviews. Philosopher's Index contains research published since 1940, including nearly 570 journals from 43 countries with content representing a variety of languages.

Political Science Complete

(EBSCO) - Coverage includes subjects such as comparative politics, law and legislation, humanitarian issues, international relations, political theory and non-governmental organizations.

Portuguese-American Digital Newspaper Collections

Primo

Primo allows you to locate the library's books, ebooks, videos, and journals. It can serve the same purpose as a traditional online catalog, but it is much more comprehensive. It includes digital art collections from the Visual Resource Center’s LUNA database and full-text articles included in many of the library's online databases. You’ll also find some materials that are not immediately available from the library but may be obtained through our interlibrary loan services. 

Project MUSE

A full-text collection of scholarly, peer-reviewed journals in the humanities and social sciences. UMass Dartmouth subscribes to the standard collection, which grants our students and faculty access to most, but not all, Project MUSE titles. You can limit your search to the standard collection titles by selecting the check box for "Only content I have full access to," which is located under "Additional Search Options."

ProQuest Central

(ProQuest) - A multidisciplinary database that covers a broad range of subject areas, such as business and economics, medical and health, news and world affairs, science, education, technology, humanities, social sciences, psychology, literature, law, and women's studies. Content includes over 19,000 periodical titles as well as thousands of dissertations, newspapers, working papers, case studies, market and industry reports, and videos.

PsycARTICLES

(EBSCO) - Offers complete access to more than 180,000 full-text articles from more than 100 journals in the psychological sciences, including basic/experimental psychology, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, education and school psychology, health psychology, and industrial/organizational psychology. Coverage includes full-text titles from as early as 1894.

PsycINFO

(EBSCO) - PsycINFO contains more than 4 million bibliographic records for research in the field of psychology, including citations, journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations, and technical reports. Journal coverage spans the 17th century to present, including international material selected from more than 2,500 periodicals in over 35 languages. More than 60,000 records are added each year. Also includes information about the psychological aspects of related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business and law. Incorporates searchable full text articles from 43 journals published by the American Psychological Association and 8 from allied organizations. 

PubMed

(National Center for Biotechnology Information, NLM) - Provides free access to the National Library of Medicine's MEDLINE database. Includes bibliographic citations and abstracts to articles in more than 4600 journals in the fields of pre-clinical sciences, healthcare, clinical medicine, biomedical research, nursing, and allied health, among others. Now includes links to full-text articles in PubMed Central.

PubMed Central (PMC)

(National Center for Biotechnology Information) - Provides free access to full text articles in over 130 life sciences journals. It is linked to PubMed and is fully searchable.

RefWorks is a web-based bibliography and citation manager that allows users to create their own personal databases by importing references from text files or online databases. If you're new to RefWorks, you can find more information on our website.

Religion Database

(ProQuest) - "A comprehensive collection of journals covering religious issues and perspectives, including religious news and information, commentary on topics of general interest from the perspective of a particular religion, and formal theological studies."

Research Companion

(Proquest) - Research Companion helps students do more effective scholarly research and supports educators as they teach the core information literacy principles of finding, evaluating, and using information.

Research Library

(ProQuest) - A general reference database that covers a broad range of subjects, from business and political science to literature and psychology. 

ReVIEW

(Design Research Publications) - Provides access to full-text nineteenth and early twentieth century art journals. ReVIEW is a project from Art History Research net (AHR net) to digitize many of the most important decorative and fine arts journals published in Europe and the USA during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

ROSA P (National Transportation Library)
