Religion Database

(ProQuest) - "A comprehensive collection of journals covering religious issues and perspectives, including religious news and information, commentary on topics of general interest from the perspective of a particular religion, and formal theological studies."

Research Companion

(Proquest) - Research Companion helps students do more effective scholarly research and supports educators as they teach the core information literacy principles of finding, evaluating, and using information.

(ProQuest) - A general reference database that covers a broad range of subjects, from business and political science to literature and psychology. 

ReVIEW

(Design Research Publications) - Provides access to full-text nineteenth and early twentieth century art journals. ReVIEW is a project from Art History Research net (AHR net) to digitize many of the most important decorative and fine arts journals published in Europe and the USA during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

ROSA P (National Transportation Library)

(US Govt.) - United States government science cross-agency portal. Search for full-text documents and reports of U.S. agencies.

SciFinder, from American Chemical Society, is the search interface to the Chemical Abstracts and MEDLINE databases. It provides subject coverage that includes the chemical aspects of astronomy, biology, education, engineering, economics, geology, history, mathematics, medicine, and physics.

Small Business Resource Center

(Gale) -  Covers all aspects of starting and operating a business, including accounting, finance, human resources, management, marketing, tax, and more.

Social Science Database

(ProQuest) - Provides indexing and access to hundreds of journals in the social sciences and related fields. Most journals included provide full text. 

SocINDEX

(EBSCO) - Offers coverage of all subdisciplines of sociology, including anthropology, criminal justice, political science, social work, and social psychology. The database includes full text for more than 300 journals, 545 books and monographs, and 6,711 conference papers.

Standard Times (New Bedford, MA)

(ProQuest) - Historical access to Standard Times (New Bedford). Available dates: Jan 04, 1992 - Aug 19, 1997.

Teacher Reference Center

(EBSCO) - Provides indexing and abstracts for more than 270 of the most popular teacher and administrator journals and magazines. Provides coverage on key educational topics such as assessment, continuing education, current pedagogical research, curriculum development, instructional media, language arts, literacy standards, science and math standards and more.

Technical Report Archive & Image Library (TRAIL)

(Center for Research Libraries) - A searchable digital collection of US governmental agency technical reports.

Telecommunications Database

(ProQuest) - Includes over 140 titles, with more than 115 available in full text. Coverage ranges from news on WAP technology, to market penetration of new technologies, to gathering information about key players in the field.

Torch, An Index to The Torch and other UMass Dartmouth Serial Publications

The Torch is UMass Dartmouth’s student newspaper.  It has been published weekly during the fall and spring academic terms since 1965.  It was known in its first years as the SMTI Torch, and later as the SMU Torch.  This index is a work in progress, and when completed, will cover the years 1965 to the present.  Other student and staff publications will be added as well, starting with the Observer, 1991-2003.  This is an index only.  To request a scan of a particular article from the original papers, please contact the Archives and Special Collections at 508-999-8684 or email the UMD Archives.
